With this theme, Festival Filosofia 2023 is preparing to transform the cities of Modena, Sassuolo and Carpi into a large common laboratory of culture, with widespread spaces for dialogue and learning about art, literature, poetry, music and much more.
This year, Marca Corona and Gallerie Estensi participate in the circuit with a programme that features the word as the protagonist, thanks to the collaboration with Master Giuseppe Stampone.
In the marvellous setting of the Palazzo Ducale in Sassuolo, from 15 to 17 September, there will be the opportunity to explore this international artist‘s special view of the world and society today, through the various works on display in the exhibition “Abecedario – Global Education”.
Festival Filosofia 2023: the complete programme at Palazzo Ducale in Sassuolo for the three-day event with Marca Corona per l'Arte
During the three-day Festival Filosofia 2023 in Sassuolo, the Palazzo Ducale hosts the exhibition promoted by Marca Corona per l’Arte and Gallerie Estensi dedicated to Giuseppe Stampone, curated by Lara Gaeta and R&P Contemporary Art.
In the display halls of the Appartamento dei Giganti, the exhibition will explore the word-to-image relationship, broadening the spectrum of reflections on verbal and figurative language, also working on the symbol and attempting to bring words and objects back to their original form.
The perspective of the exhibition thus extends to different communities and geographical places, already present in the collective imagination in a specific way, which the artist seeks to revise or decontextualise.
The works on show therefore belong to various typologies and include both those that characterise the artist’s personal research – such as the famous tables created with the exclusive Stampone blue Bic ballpoint pen as well as video and installation contributions referring to the numerous projects and explorations that the master has carried out over time, such as:
- collective art workshops for Marca Corona employees;
- i Global Education Labs which involved two classes of the A. Venturi High School (Art Institute) of Modena.
Among the master’s most recent achievements, the exhibition includes “Abecedario d’artista”: 21 previously unpublished tables, each referring to a letter of the alphabet and associated with an image and a word.
The unpublished work is the result of a participatory co-creation process that saw the artist engage with the people of Marca Corona to tell the story, values and evolution of a company community that has been active for more than three centuries.
This collective experiment is in the wake of Stampone’s previous “Abecedario works”, such as the one dedicated to Italy (which contained the B for beauty, the E for emigration, the P for piazza – square) or the revolutionary one (with the A for anarchy and the V for victory).
